ABOUT MY PET PORTRAITS
My work has been described by many as loose, soft and vibrant and the medium of soft pastel fits my style perfectly. I am not a photo realistic painter but I strive to capture the uniqueness of the animals I paint through my color choices and pastel application. I love to find the composition and poses that capture the animal's personality best. I like to go beyond the traditional 'portrait' pose and create a piece of fine art.
COMMISSION PROCEDURE
To get started I'll ask you to send or email me some photos of your pet. The more the better and I will provide you with
tips for getting the best photos. If you are in the Atlanta area, I can arrange to come meet you and your pet and take the
photos. We will discuss what you would like and I will do several quick sketches so we can finalize ideas for the painting.
DEPOSIT & PAYMENT
If we decide to go ahead with the painting I will require a 20% deposit. When I complete the painting I will email or post to my blog digital images of the painting. If you are satisfied, then the balance of the payment is due.
I accept personal checks and credit card payment through PayPal. Checks will need to clear my account before I can ship the painting.
SHIPPING
Your finished painting will be carefully packaged between sheets of foamcore, the painting protected by glassine paper. I use USPS Priority Mail and I will contact you with the Delivery Confirmation number so you can track the package.
PRICING
I use the finest soft pastels on archival pastel papers. Paintings are not matted or framed as I feel framing is a very personal decision. I do provide you with care and framing tips.
